EComp Stan Yeo – A Centenary Milestone.
E.Comp Stan Yeo recently celebrated his 100th birthday on the 26th of June 2023.
The celebrations included a wonderful cake and a visit by E.Comp Paul Hughes 2nd PrGPrin and E.Comp Arthur Blamey PrChStwd who presented a card and personal letter from our Most Excellent Grand Superintendent.
E.Comp Stan is an honorary member of Bedford Chapter 282 in Tavistock and the Lodge of Benevolence 666 in Princetown.
He was initiated on the 9th of August 1972 and exalted just three years later in 1975. E.Comp Stan was a man ahead of his time, fully embracing the Initiation to Exaltation, One Organisation approach to Freemasonry nearly 50 years ago.
An accomplished Freemason, E.Comp Stan went through the Craft Chair in 1981 and the First Principals chair in 1985. He holds the Craft rank of PPrJGW and the Chapter rank of PPrGScN.
In 100 years E.Comp Stan will certainly have seen some change. Events from 1923 include;
The then Monarch was King George V, Howard Carter opened the burial chamber of King Tutankhamun. The Empire Stadium (Wembley Stadium) was opened to the public for the first time. The BBC broadcast the chimes of Big Ben at New Year for the first time.
