The Lower Deck Cafe

Tavistock Freemasons, Michael Hughes and Arthur Blamey dropped in on The Lower Deck Cafe in Tavistock on Friday the 3rd of November to find out a bit about the services that they provide to the local community.

The Lower Deck Cafe is a not-for-profit organisation located in Russell Street and it is run by  volunteers from the United Reform Church and volunteers from the community. The Cafe is open every Friday between 10am and 2pm and it serves up great value lunches and refreshments.

Michael and Arthur were told that just last Friday the Cafe covered over 120 meals helping those in need of some nutritional support and comfort.

On the behalf of local Masons, and supported by the Companions of the Devonshire Royal Arch, Michael and Arthur presented £250 to the Cafe to help them to continue with their valuable work.
