As a part of his year as Worshipful Master of Torbay Lodge 1358, WBro Jeff Hughes organised a “Round the Bay Walk” raising funds for Rowcroft Hospice. He was joined on Saturday the 8th of June 12 Brethren from neighbouring Lodges plus family members and ages ranging from 15 to 80.
A fantastic coastal plod with superb scenery and much friendly chat. The weather was favourable with just a spot of drizzle causing the walkers to look skyward.
With Paul de Chastelain heading the charge, all of the walkers successfully completed the route with no strains or sprains and pledged to repeat the journey again in 2025, but in reverse.
WBro Jeff expresses grateful thanks to all the Lodges, Secretaries, Brethren and Charity Stewards who made it all come together and to these brethren and their families who took part
Special thanks to the Most Excellent Grand Superintendent, Excellent Companion Christopher A. Roach for the magnificent sum of £1,000 from the Provincial Grand Chapter of Devon.
WBro Jeff is yet to finalise the amount pledged but hopes to present a cheque for circa £2900 to Rowcroft Hospice in the near future.
