On Wednesday the 28th June 60 plus Companions attended Oreston Masonic Temple for the Maristow Chapter Installation meeting.
Before the business of the evening the Companions welcomed Mrs Jo Penk who received a £500 donation from The Most Excellent Grand Superintendents Fund to Goosewell Primary Academy. This money will be used by the school’s Welfare Fund in helping families under their care. Examples of the work the Fund does include support in the run up to Christmas including Christmas Hampers containing long life products, household essentials and vouchers for fresh shopping produce. Also during the run up to Christmas, Mrs Penk organises a “pop up shop” with cards, presents and wrapping paper where children who are involved in the Academy can select gifts and cards to give to their loved ones.
Following on from the presentation, the Maristow Chapter Installation continued with E.Comp Phil Collins leading the way and installing his successor in a lovely way. A fantastic ceremony was followed by an even better Festive Board with great Companionship enjoyed by all.
