Sidmouth had the pleasure of receiving E Comp Paul Hughes, Deputy Grand Superintendent, at Perseverance’s 2026 Installation Meeting. He was accompanied by a large number of active Provincial Officers. Just before they all processed up the stairs into the Temple they gathered in the dining room for the following photo to be taken.
The main ceremonial was to consist of just two Inductions, unfortunately that well known Devonshire Companion, E Comp Jeff Bailey who should have taken the role of J, was away at a Midlands Cathedral involved in Campanology duties. E Comp David Wheaton was duly installed as the new Z and E Comp Chris Henley as H. E Comp John Eaton having taken the J chair at the outset he remained there for the rest of the meeting. The work was carried out efficiently with E Comp Chis Taylor giving a faultless opening address. Z and H were duly installed in their new chairs and robe addresses given to them before the rest of the year’s team were appointed and invested. With the rest of the evening’s business completed E Comp Jeff Millar gave the closing address.
The Provincial Team retired in the second rising leaving the Chapter members to complete the final evening’s business and the closing routines. They were then able to disrobe and join the happy scum at the bar. The assembled company then took their places at table for a very satisfactory meal and all the appropriate speeches and toasts looking forward to the forthcoming year, when it is anticipated we will increase the numbers in our fold.
